Mrs. Judy Nunn Jackson, 78, of Swainsboro, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Morris Brantley officiating. Interment was held at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum following the service. Family received friends Friday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Colton Kersey, Josh Bedgood, Chris Bedgood, Robbie Johnson, Derek Chance and Billy Miller.

Judy was born July 28, 1946, in Twin City, to the late Ivey Nunn and Christine Lively Lamb. She grew up and made her home in Swainsboro. Judy married her lifelong sweetheart, Alton (Pete), and together they raised seven children. They remained together until he passed away in 2000. Judy was a homemaker until her children were grown. She had a love for doing hair. After her children were grown, she went to cosmetology school and got her license. Judy then became the family’s beautician. She was a God-fearing Christian woman who loved the lord. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Judy had the biggest heart and loved with everything she had. To know her was to love her. Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alton Jackson; son, Olin Jackson; daughter, Tracy Jackson; brothers, Jerry Nunn and Tony Nunn.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her son, James Jackson of Swainsboro; daughters, Shelia Kirby (Mark) of Nunez, Leisa McGee of Swainsboro, Amanda Miller (James) of Guyton and Jenny Kersey (Grayson) of Wrightsville; brother, Wayne Nunn of Atlanta; sisters, Barbara Shirey, Mary Ann Brantley (Morris), June Fields, Joan Achy (Steve) all of Swainsboro and Sybil Kirby (Brad) of Adrian; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
