The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, April 15, at the Rustic Grille at 6:30 p.m. With President Paul Cerpovicz presiding, there were 12 in attendance including two guests, Joelle Romanchik-Cerpovicz and Karolina Cerpovicz. President Paul gave an update on the Division 17 Rally at Statesboro on April 5. They had six Kiwanians attend the Rally. Many awards were given out, with the late Jim Daughtry being honored for his years of service to Kiwanis. Kiwanian Bobbie Daughtry accepted the post-humous award. EGSC Circle K member CheyAnne Howard was awarded a Mel Hayden Student Leadership Award.

Kiwanis will host the Knotty Pine 5K Run on May 3, at the Pine Tree Festival starting in the parking lot across from First Baptist Church at 8 a.m. For late applications, arrive around 7 a.m.
