Lady Eagles fall to Robert Toombs Christian Academy

David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles fell 8-6 to Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders on Wednesday, September 25, despite out-hitting them 11 to 10. Aubrey Scott led David Emanuel Academy with three hits. Scott collected three hits in five at bats in the loss. She doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the seventh inning. The Lady Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Payton Peebles singled, Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders committed an error, and Peebles stole home, each scoring one run. Robert Toombs Christian Academy tied the game in the bottom of the second, thanks to an error, and a single by Meredith Durden. The Lady Eagles took the lead in the top of the fourth. An error scored one run, to give David Emanuel Academy the lead, 4-3. Robert Toombs captured the lead, 8-6, in the bottom of the sixth after #11 singled, David Emanuel Academy committed an error, and Railee Thomas singled, each scoring one run. Durden earned the win for Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders. The starting pitcher allowed 11 hits and six runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. Kyli Bell took the loss for Eagles. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking four. David Emanuel Academy amassed 11 hits in the game. Peebles provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Eagles with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-5 on the day. Bell and Emily McRae each collected multiple hits for David Emanuel Academy.
