Lady Eagles walk-off in nail-biter against Thomas Jefferson Academy

It came down to the wire on Thursday, August 29 as David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 8-7, over Thomas Jefferson Academy Varsity Jaguars. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the eighth when Aubrey Scott doubled, scoring one run. The Lady Eagles came back to win despite trailing 5-0 in the third. Thomas Jefferson Academy Varsity Jaguars got on the board in the top of the first inning after David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles 2024 committed an error, and Thomas Jefferson Academy scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. The Jaguars added one run in the second after Caroline McNeely singled, then added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Addie McClellan homered to left field, and Chelsey Miller scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. The Lady Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, thanks to a double by Addalyn Terwilliger, and an error. Scott earned the win for David Emanuel Academy. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Kyli Bell stepped in the circle first for DEA. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three. The Lady Eagles collected 13 hits in the game. Bailey McNure led the Lady Eagles with three hits in four at bats. Terwilliger and Kaley Flowers each drove in two runs for DEA. Scott and Emily McRae each collected multiple hits. David Emanuel Academy turned one double play in the game.
