The Lady Tigers flag football team kicked off their season last Thursday night with a doubleheader on Tiger Field. They played their first game against Jenkins High School from Savannah at 5 p.m. The young team showed their inexperience, but there were promising moments as they began to adjust to the pace of the game.

The Lady Tigers lost their first game to Jenkins with a score of 26-0. In their second matchup against Lakeside of Augusta, they faced a tougher challenge, falling 35-0. Despite the losses, the team’s effort and determination were evident. Coach expressed satisfaction with how the girls tried to execute plays and showed resilience in the face of adversity, pointing out that it’s still early in the season and there’s plenty of room for growth.

With a roster full of potential, the Lady Tigers are committed to improving both individually and as a team. The coaching staff is focusing on building fundamentals, increasing game awareness, and sharpening skills in the coming weeks. The team’s spirit and willingness to learn set a solid foundation for future success as they work towards refining their strategies.

The team will continue to work on improving as the season progresses. Their next game will be at home on October 31, when they take on Claxton at 5 p.m. on Tiger Field. Be sure to come out and support the Lady Tigers!
