Levi Cesar Huges, age 85, departed this life on Monday, August 4, 2025. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, August 10, at 2 p.m. at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Delmus Mosley officiating.
Cesar was born July 30, 1940, to the late Cora C.H, Green and Cicero Hughes. He was a graduate of Swainsboro High School and dedicated many years of his life to his career at George Myers Corporation where he retired. Cesar was a devoted family man and faithful servant to God. For over forty years, he was a committed member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon and Usher. Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Betty Smith; children, Levi Legrant Hughes and Bobby Gene Mincey; and sister, Rose Lee Hughes.
Mr. Huges is survived by his children, Betty Jean Hughes, Constance Denise Hughes and Phillip Irvin Hughes; brothers, Ulysses Grant Hughes, Cicero Alvin Hughes and Lawson (Janet) Hughes; bonus children, Bennett Sutton, Jr., Victor Sutton, Jermaine Smith (Angel Miles), Eva Collins, Franchester Turner (Garner), Allison Phillips (Leonardo Oglesby), Ruby Sutton and Janice Sutton; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
