Two outstanding young musicians from Swainsboro High School have achieved the highest honor a high school musician can receive—selection to the prestigious 2025 All-State Band. Congratulations to Bo Brown and Grayson Brassell for earning their spots after an intense audition against thousands of talented students across the state.

In an extraordinary accomplishment, Grayson Brassell secured 1st Chair in trumpet, making her the top trumpet player in the state for grades 9 and 10. This prestigious recognition highlights her dedication, skill, and hard work in mastering her instrument.

The All-State Band selection is a testament to the discipline and perseverance required to excel in music. Students undergo a rigorous audition process, demonstrating their technical ability, tone quality, and musicality. Being chosen is a remarkable achievement, signifying that Brown and Brassell stand among the best young musicians in the state.

Their success brings immense pride to Swainsboro High School and the local community. SHS Band director Lindy Sikes praised their hard work, saying, “Bo and Grayson have shown incredible dedication to their craft. Their achievement is well-earned, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”

The All-State Band will convene later this year for a special performance, showcasing the exceptional talents of these musicians. Brown and Brassell’s selection not only celebrates their individual success but also reflects the strength of Swainsboro’s music program.
