Mr. Loye Ervin Johnson, Jr., age 66, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Swainsboro. Graveside services will be held June 7, at 10 a.m. at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Butch Taylor officiating.

Loye Johnson, Jr. was born October 6, 1958, to the late Loye Ervin, Sr.,and Reba Dell Johnson. He was a fisherman and a jokester, always quick with a joke or a laugh. Loye loved being in the river. He also enjoyed cooking for friends and family, especially banana pudding, turkey with dressing and fried chicken. Loye always had a nutty bar and a Coke Zero. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Stacy Landon and Ricky Yates; grandparents, James Earl, May Bell Hendley Turner, Albert Lee and Janie Henderson Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his children, Travis Johnson, Nick Johnson, Steven Johnson and Michelle Johnson; brother, James Alan (Connie) Johnson; sisters, Joyce (Strip) Turner, Patricia (Henry) Sparks, Vicki Yates and Christy Landon; aunt, Earlene Underwood; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
