Mr. Luther Aaron Bell, age 88, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Hospice of Savannah. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 21, at 2 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating. Mr. Bell lay in state for an hour prior to the service. Interment followed at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Mr. Bell’s grandsons.

Luther was born June 23, 1937, in Burke County, to the late Malcolm Medlock and Esther Moore Bell. He worked at Chatham Steel for 42 years until his retirement. Luther loved rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, quail hunting, fishing and refinishing furniture. He had many pets throughout his life whom he loved immensely, but Maggie was his favorite companion. Luther’s favorite hobby was dancing. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Twin City, and a former member of the Baptist Church in Twin City. Mr. Bell is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Allene Burke Bell; brother, Winfred Bell; sister, Bonnilynn Mixon; and a granddaughter, Faith Bell.

Mr. Bell is survived by his children, John (Terri) Bell of Twin City, Randall (Jennie) Bell and Laurie Bell Graham, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Georgia (Ben) Pearman, Michael O’Connor, Jr., Emily O’Connor, Jack O’Connor, Brandon (Amanda) Bell, Justin (Tori) Bell and Courtney (Jamey) Watson; great-grandchildren, Lilly Bell, Ada Bell, Waylon Bell and Indee Bell; and sister, Fayette Chance of Twin City.
