The ECI baseball team had only two games last week, winning both against Jenkins Co. The coaches will be looking for some quality innings from their starting pitchers this week with 4 region games on tap which would stretch any baseball team’s hurlers.

They traveled to Darien yesterday to take on McIntosh Co. and will close out the week at home, hosting the Buccaneers on Friday. Wednesday, they will have Savannah High School at Joe Harvey Field in a double header against the Blue Jackets.

ECI played a two-game home and away series against Jenkins Co. last week taking both games to bring their region record to 5-1. The Bulldogs outscored the young Eagle team 29-1, defeating Jenkins Tuesday 14-1 and Friday night by a score of 15-0. The Bulldogs had 13 hits, with two homeruns and 4 doubles in the 14-1 game on Tuesday. Gabe Lee, 2 hits, HR, 5 RBI and Tuff Boddiford, 2 hits, HR and 2 RBI led the Bulldogs at plate. Ab Marsh and Kanyon Thompson were the other multiple hitters for the Bulldogs with 2 hits each. Jackson Kennedy, Gabe Lee and Lake Bush toed the rubber during the game and combined to allow just 3 hits to the Eagles with 10 strikeouts.

Long time Bulldog baseball coach and new head football coach, Chad Harper, got the game underway Friday with the ceremonial first pitch. James Parker started the game, allowing just one hit during his 3 innings of work. Bryson Thompson pitched the final fourth in-ning giving up 2 hits.

Leading hitters with 3 hits each were Tuff Boddiford and Davis Johnson.

The away game against McIntosh Co. on Tuesday has first pitch at 6 p.m. with the home game against the Bucs scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

The first game of the double header against Savannah on Wednesday begins at 4 p.m. with second game scheduled for 6 p.m.
