Mrs. Margaret Ann Kirby Smith, age 93, of Twin City, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 3, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Webb officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery with Mr. Corbin Wiggins officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Kirby, Darrel Wilson, Shawn Riner, Peyton Kirby, Mason Kirby and John Kirby, Jr.

Margaret was born July 4, 1932, in Piedmont, South Carolina, to the late Otis Kirby and Irene Cain Kirby. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn Livingston “Buck” Smith, Jr.; sisters, Bessie Mae Kirby, Lillian Klein, Phyllis Hammock, Bobbie Jean Riner, Nellie Ruth Wilson, Christine Daniels and Jeannette Kirby Webb; brothers, Lee Kerby, Joe Kirby, David Kirby and Willie Milton Kirby.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her brother, Jerry Kirby of Pooler; several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
