Marlene Jones Jenkins, age 70, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, entering into eternal rest. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church with Pastor Johnnie Branch officiating.

Marlene was born June 7, 1953, in Emanuel County, to the late Bailey Jones and Mary Lee Jones. She attended Emanuel County Schools and later graduated from a correspondence school. Marlene enjoyed fishing, shopping, socializing, and quilting, but most of all, she enjoyed cooking for her family and always looked forward to spending time with them. Mrs. Jenkins is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Jenkins; daughter, Catina Lafayette Jones; sister, Joann Jones Bright; brothers, Eddie Jones and Jerry Jones; and nephew, Tavarse Jones.

Mrs. Jenkins leaves to cherish her memories with her son, Jarvis Jones of Swainsboro; stepson, Dewayne Jenkins of Columbus; grandson, Octavious Jones of Statesboro; great-grandsons, Karter Ripley and Loyal Jones, both of Statesboro; brother, Murry (Lavonia) Jones of Nashville, TN; sister, Lillie Jones of Swainsboro; sister/niece, Jennifer (Jermaine) Harrison of Midville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and caretakers.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
