Mickey and Jennifer Holder of Galax, VA and Angel Anderson of Metter announce the engagement of their daughter, Maddison Brooke Holder, to William Harrison Hughes. The future groom is the son of Mike and Denna Hughes of Statesboro.
The bride-elect graduated with honors from Tattnall County High School in 2018. Maddison graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Maddison then attended graduate school at the University of North Georgia earning a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She is employed at Emanuel Medical Center and Nursing Home. Miss Holder is the granddaughter of Billy and Linda Holder of Swainsboro, Freddie and Linda Wallace and Jerry and Becky Page, all of Metter.
The groom-elect graduated with honors from Statesboro High School in 2019. Harrison attended Georgia Southern University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then transferred to the University of Georgia earning a Doctorate in Pharmacy. Mr. Hughes is the grandson of Richard and Theresa Gay and the late Mary Ellen Gay of Metter and Bill Hughes and the late Sammie Hughes of Hinesville.
The wedding is planned for September 20, 2025, at Statesboro First Methodist Church with the reception to follow at Foxhall in Statesboro. Formal invitations will be sent at a later date.
