The Veterans at the Library met Monday, Oct. 21, 2024. They had 42 Veterans in attendance. They enjoyed a breakfast with fresh fruit, breakfast casserole, blueberry muffins, pound cake, juices and coffee provided by Beta Sigma Phi members Jane Durden, Betsy Johnson, Jill Briercheck and Ann Johnson.

Guest speaker was Charlene Ayala, Miss South Carolina World. She talked to the Veterans about literacy and how important a library is to a community. Libraries offer free reading material for everyone.

The Veterans were reminded they only have five more weeks before they place flags on graves for Wreaths Across America. If you would like to place a wreath on a loved one’s grave in Emanuel County, forms are available at Franklin Memorial Library.
