Mrs. Nellie Dot Jones, age 94, of Kite, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Elder Will Martin officiating. Interment followed in Sardis Church Cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers were Darrell Wilson, Eric Morrison, Jerry Riner, Doyle Kersey, Harry Martin and Ashley Riner.

Dot was born September 5, 1930, in Adrian, to Roscoe Riner and Bertha Nell Lawson Riner. She loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid race car fan. Dot enjoyed participating in activities at the Senior Center and worked as a bookkeeper and at a beauty salon. Dot was a member at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church for 48 years and taught Sunday School during some of that time. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil Jones; and son, Ronnie Ray Henry.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Ricky Henry (Carol) of Kite; daughter, Rita Henry Hayes of Adrian; grandchildren, Randy Hayes (Leslie), Luke Henry, Forrest Hayes, Paige Neely (B.J.); great-grandchildren, Lawson Neely, Ridge Neely, Katy Davis; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
