On Sunday April 28, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m. officers of the Swainsboro Police Department were dispatched to Hibbett Sports in reference to a robbery in progress.

Officers were given a brief description of three males that had entered the store with large bags and began to fill the bags with merchandise from inside the store. Within just a couple of minutes the three men grabbed all they could carry and had exited the store. Officers also received a description of the vehicle the individuals left driving.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and made certain all personnel were safe. Other officers used the vehicle description of the get-away vehicle to search the area.

Within a short period of time an officer of the Swainsboro Police Department located the vehicle just a block away from the shopping center.
