The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, December 2, at the Rustic Grill at 6:30 p.m. With Dianna Wedincamp presiding, they had 11 in attendance including guest, Joele Romanchik-Cerpovicz. Tim Goodman won the Lemon-Strawberry Cake and Wanda Ellis won the Domino’s pizza. Dianna introduced Kiwanian Jeff Palmer who gave the program for the evening. Jeff discussed the importance of Kiwanis Club membership using “Tips and Tools” from the Georgia District, which emphasizes the formation of an active Membership Committee, continuous recruitment by the entire club membership and SLP members and using the “Two for Two” plan from Kiwanis International being the key elements of a membership recruitment program. President Dianna indicated she would be working the Garfield Festival on December 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. and will be making popcorn. If you wish to help, give Dianna a call. Paul Cerpovicz announced that Kiwanis received a grant from the Mill Creek Foundation for 10 more Little Free Libraries, and their support with this project is appreciated. This year, a couple of the LFL’s will have an art emphasis and have art supplies in them.
