Mr. Paul Coleman, 77, of Meeks, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, in the company of his loving family. Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 7, at 2 p.m. at Corinth Church. Interment followed at Lamb Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, Febru-ary 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were “Little” William James, Ty Powell, Mack Waller, Trey Powell, Jake Jackson and Vic Steptoe. Honorary pallbearers were Hugh Foskey, Phil Foskey, Billy James, Kenny Powell, Sonny Norris, Howard Riner, Joe Jackson, Duaine Mimbs, Joe Mimbs, James Grant and Trai Johnson.

Mr. Coleman was born October 7, 1946, the fifth of ten children, to the late Archie Bud Coleman and Ruby Lee Grant Coleman. He was reared in the pines of Meeks and lived there his entire life. As a young man, Paul dipped turpentine, and then became a logger for Bennie V. Powell. He moved into heavy equipment operation while building homes with Bill English. Paul became a crane operator and superintendent with Bell Construction of Brentwood, TN. He retired from the environmental cleanup industry where he was heavily involved in soil remediation, and LFG Gas Systems installation. In retirement, Paul enjoyed gardening, canning, and fishing. He especially loved growing cane and cooking it down to make syrup. Paul enjoyed afternoon visits with family and friends. Mr. Coleman is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Janet Lee Coleman and Jeanie Sue Coleman; brothers, Vertis Cole-man, Curtis Coleman, David Coleman and Harold Coleman; sisters, Myrtis Brinson and Ju-dy Cook; grandson, Thomas Lee Coleman; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Cowart Coleman.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Coleman of Meeks; sons, Verlon Coleman and Vince (Kristi) Coleman, both of Meeks; daughter, Wendy (Stephen) Coker of Twin City; stepsons, Sammy Henry and Jessie Henry, both of Swainsboro; brothers, Donald Coleman and Bobby Gary (Denise) Lewis, both of Swainsboro; sister, Angie Coleman of Cochran; grandchildren, Allison Coleman of Watkins, CO, Alexis (Mason) Henry of Garfield, Caitlan (Gordon) Cole-man-Nail of Atlanta, Hollan Coleman of Meeks, Jacob Grimes of Swainsboro and Aaralyn Grimes of Twin City; great-grandchild, Marlee Grace Johnson of Stillmore; several nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

The family wishes to thank Solace Hospice of Vidalia for their professionalism and kindness that they extended to the family.

In leu of flowers, memorials can be made to: Corinth Church, c/o Madison Foskey, 451 Fos-key Road, Adrian, GA 31002.

Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
