A new baby, just in time for Mother’s Day

For Brooke McBroom, Mother’s Day will be a little different this year. She and Gage Bell of Swainsboro welcomed their daughter, Palmer Jean Bell, on April 20, 2021 at East Georgia Women’s Pavilion in Statesboro. Historically, she and Mr. Bell have always spent Mother’s Day surrounded by family. The two plan to do just that again this Sunday, May 10, but this year’s celebration will be a little different as Miss McBroom will be celebrated as well.

“Mother’s Day means a lot to me. I have one of the most beautiful and strongest moms I know. If I’m half the mom to my daughter as my mom is to me, I know I’ll be just fine,” Miss McBroom said. “Just in these two short weeks, I can already tell time flies! I’m really trying to enjoy every single moment. It may not always be easy, but it’s always so rewarding!”

“PJ,” as Palmer Jean is affectionately called, weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. and was 20.75” long.

Her grandparents include Dwayne McBroom of Swainsboro, John and Tonya Morel of Keller, Texas, Scottie Bell of Swainsboro, and Lori Bell of Soperton.
