A Walk in the Park

Updated: Apr 18

Spring is here! The birds are singing, flowers are in bloom, the grass is turning green and the days have gotten longer. There are so many sights and sounds around us to remind us we live in a beautiful place.

Franklin Memorial Library would like to invite you to take the time to enjoy this time of the year with other community members in their first “Walk in the Park” event on March 30th, 2023 at the Emanuel Recreation Department located on McLeod Bridge Road. The event will be held from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

Bring the family out and enjoy an afternoon of “getting close to nature.” There will be lots of activities for children of all ages: sidewalk art and painting, a Family Connections story book walk, and honey tasting to name a few. Smokey the Bear will be there along with the Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS. Head Start, Emanuel County Humane Society, and Keep Emanuel Beautiful will be there with information to share. Come learn about bees and taste their honey. The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club will provide hot dogs for the children. Books, honey and seeds will also be given away.

So get into the “Spring Spirit” and come out March 30, from 4:00-5:30 to the Emanuel County Recreation Department for an afternoon of learning and fun!
