Active case count swells to mid-200s
The following graphic depicts the latest COVID-19 report released by the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners. These numbers are the most up-to-date findings and are provided by a joint effort from the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners, East Georgia Healthcare Center, and the Department of Health.
Please note these three organizations try to give Emanuel County the most updated, correct information with data coming from different statewide sources. Sometimes, information is delayed. If that is the case, the board of commission, who puts out the information via Facebook, updates information as soon as it is received.
Currently, the board of commissioners reports once weekly. Sometimes patient results are delayed, so by the time the data is received, they are out of the isolation window and deemed recovered.
This graphic that accompanies this story is representative of Monday, August 23, 2021 data. As of that time, the county’s active case count checked in at 257.
This number is slightly decreased from last week’s update; on Thursday, August 19, the active case count in Emanuel sat at 269. Before that date, the last time Emanuel’s active cases logged in the 200s was on January 7 (224).
