Annette Dukes, 84

Graveside services for Annette Dukes, 84 of Wadley, were held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11 .m. at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Edge and Rev. Mike Palma officiating. Family visitation was held prior to the graveside service. Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requested that social distancing and other safety precautions as outlined by the CDC be followed. She entered into the loving arms of her Savior on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Emanuel Medical Center.

Mrs. Annette Dukes was born in Emanuel County to Benjamin Jordan and Ether Bishop Moxley. She graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1954, and she married her husband, Jimmie I. Dukes, in 1967. She was a lady of faith who daily put her trust in God. She was a homemaker, a loving and dedicated spouse for 47 years, and spent the last years of her husband’s life as his faithful caregiver. She enjoyed flower gardening, time spent with family and birdwatching as she tended her feathered “flock” faithfully. Mrs. Dukes attended Emanuel Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors include her sister, Carolyn Canady (Edwin), as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Emanuel Worship Center.

Tomlinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
