Anticipating Georgia Day, historic society to hold open house February 6

Georgia Day will be observed February 12, and the Georgia Historical Society (GHS) will celebrate this occasion with museum open houses across the state on Sunday, February 6. Locally, the Emanuel County Historic Society will join GHS in this observation, opening Longview Farm & Home Museum at 133 Museum Road in Swainsboro from 1 to 4 p.m. that day.

Missy Elder of the society says the more than 10,000 artifacts on display at Longview are all part and past of Emanuel County. Like always, there will be no admission cost to tour the museum and outbuildings.
