Atlanta Falcons Lose Heartbreaker Against New Orleans

The Atlanta Falcons hosted the New Orleans Saints, Sunday, September 11th, for the first game of the season. This would be a huge week one victory for the Falcons over a really good team.

The Falcons were down 7-3 after the first quarter until a scoring outburst in the second quarter made it 20-7 at the half. In the first half, RB Cordarrelle Patterson had the only touchdown for the Falcons, while Falcons Kicker, former Georgia Southern Kicker, Younghoe Koo had three field goals.

Through the third quarter, after QB Marcus Mariota ran in a touchdown, the Falcons seemed to be in control up 23-10. The fourth quarter came around, and the woes that have hurt the Falcons so many times before got them again.

The Saints scored 17 points to the Falcons three. The Saints kicked a field goal to go up 27-26 and the Falcons got a shot at a long field goal, but it would be blocked.

The Saints broke the Falcons hearts once again. The Falcons head to Los Angeles to take on the Rams next Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
