Augusta Chapter, NSDAR Celebrate Constitution Week
The East Fall Line Region Continentals traveled to Augusta, GA early Saturday morning, September 17, 2022 to participate in Constitution Week being celebrated by the Augusta Chapter, NSDAR at 10:00 am.
The ceremony was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located at 605 Reynolds Street. The Ceremony began with a service inside the church with the Presentation of the Colors by the Georgia & South Carolina Society, SAR Color Guard. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner, the Posting of the Colors was held.
Greetings were given by the Georgia State Society, NSDAR, South Carolina State Society, NSDAR, Georgia Society, SAR and the South Carolina Society, SAR. After "A Life Well Lived" was read by LTC Sonny Pittman and God Bless America was sung by Sgt. Maj. Michael Culbertson everyone moved outside the church for the Presentation of the Wreaths.
There were 47 presenters at the wreath Laying Ceremony Honoring Revolutionary War Patriot Colonel William Few, Jr. After the Wreath presentations, a 3-round volley was fired by the Elijah Clarke Militia, the East Fall Line Region Continental Militia and the Brier Creek Artillery. The Brier Creek Artillery fired their just built 6-pounder Field Gun, their 2nd just built 6-pounder Field Gun and their 8-pounder Field Gun. Then taps was played and the benediction. Constitution Day Luncheon at the Kroc Center following the Ceremony.
