Barbara Tanner Edwards, 65
Funeral services for Barbara Tanner Edwards, 65 of Wrightsville, will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jamey Toler officiating. Interment will follow at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 20, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home beginning at 1 p.m. for one hour prior to the service. She passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.
Ms. Barbara Tanner Edwards was born April 3, 1957 in Bartow to the late Bennie Tanner and Mary Garner Tanner. She was a great mother and grandmother who loved to make everyone laugh and believed laughter was the best medicine. Ms. Edwards was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hanson Edwards Sr.; sisters, Mary Ann Fanning, Judy White, and Lynn Harrell; and brothers, J.W. Tanner, Billy Tanner, Roy Tanner, Mickey Tanner, Donald Tanner, Fred Tanner, Cecil Tanner.
Survivors include her son, Lewis Hanson Edwards Jr. of Kite; daughter, Krystal Dawn Edwards of Wrightsville; sisters, Betty Jackson of Tennille and Dorothy Claxton of Alaska; grandchildren, Brittany Marie Edwards and Layla Hartlyn Edwards; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Brian Tanner, Nick Tanner, Tony Tanner, Don Tanner, Jamie Tanner, and Ryder Lamb will be pallbearers. Josh Tanner and Jarrett Tanner will be honorary pallbearers.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
