Bennett wins state speech championship, LaiTyam takes second


Another literary state champion hails from David Emanuel Academy.


Ben Bennett, pictured below on the left, competed in the Men’s Sermon category of the 2022 GAPPS Division I Literary State Championship held Tuesday, March 22, at Grace Fellowship in Greensboro, and came out on top.


Emmi LaiTyam competed at the same event and finished second in the Persuasive Speech category.


As a state champion, Bennett joins the prestigious company of one other from DEA this year. Peyton Free won at the state level in the Personal Essay category, as reported in last week’s Chronicle.
