Betty Gambrell Animal Shelter takes in 60 dogs over course of last month



According to information from the local animal shelter, 60 dogs were taken in over the last month.


Nineteen of these were picked up inside the city limits of Swainsboro, and the remaining 41 were apprehended elsewhere in the county.


Of those 60 dogs, 11 were adopted, six were returned to their owners, and the other 51 were transported to rescues.


If you’re interested in adopting a dog from the Betty Gambrell Animal Shelter, feel free to take a visit to the facility. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sunday. To reach the shelter by phone, call 478-237-4040.
