Betty McNure Hutcheson, 59


Funeral services for Betty McNure Hutcheson, 59 of Adrian, were held Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 4 p.m. at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Steve McNure and Elder J.E. Griffis officiating. Interment follow at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Mount Zion from 2 to 4 p.m. She passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.

Ms. Betty McNure Hutcheson was born September 6, 1961 in Swainsboro to George McNure and Laverne Kersey McNure. Born and raised in Emanuel County, she graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1979. She attended Brewton Parker College, graduating cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education in 2001. Ms. Hutcheson went on to obtain her master’s degree in early childhood education from Walden University in 2006. She taught first grade at Adrian School for multiple years before teaching fourth grade at Twin City Elementary. Ms. Hutcheson had a love for teaching, reading, singing, and her church. Above all else, she loved her family and the Lord. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren. Ms. Hutcheson was a lifetime member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist, joining when she was just 10-years-old.

Survivors include her parents, George and Laverne McNure of Norristown; son, Seth (Abrill) Hutcheson of Adrian; daughter, Anna (Ethan) Edge of Soperton; brothers, Steve (Cristi) McNure of Portal and Jerry (Angie) McNure of Norristown; grandchildren, Maddie Rae Edge, Riley Hutcheson, Erin Hutcheson, Kalem Hutcheson, and Nellie Hutcheson; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers were Ethan Edge, Lynn Hutcheson, Jerry McNure, Justin McNure, and Ben McNure.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
