Brasher addresses council

Emanuel Arts Council board member Alan Brasher addresses Swainsboro City Council Monday night to request the road closure of the 100 block of North Green Street on October 6 from 4-7 p.m. The EAC is planning a community art event for local high school and college art students. The event will include live music by Donald Jenkins, a judged art exhibition, and a sidewalk chalk competition. Police Chief Randy Ellison has approved the road closure, as well as all businesses on that block. Emanuel County School Superintendent Scotty Hattaway has also approved the participation of public school students. Swainsboro City Council unanimously approved the request.
