Braves Win Six in a Row Before Pivotal Series

By Justin Gray

Major League Baseball plays a 162 game schedule for a reason, and it's a marathon. We've seen teams come from last place to first place and make the playoffs, we've seen teams like last year's Atlanta Braves finish with just 88 wins and win the World Series. The point is that it's not about where you start, where you are in the middle of the season, it's about where you finish.

The Braves have won six in a row ahead of a huge week of baseball. The Braves have struggled all season against the National League East leading New York Mets with a 3-8 record against them.

Two weeks ago, the Braves dropped four out of five in New York, but the Braves have a chance to avenge that this week. They host the Mets for a four game set and they are currently 5.5 games back. The Braves are currently at the top of the NL Wild Card and would get the four seed if the season ended today.

They host defending American League Champ, the Houston Astros this weekend for a three-game set. After this week, we will likely know where the Braves will finish. Stay tuned!
