Breedlove, Key share war testimonies at library

Updated: Mar 10, 2022

Franklin Memorial Library continues to host coffee for veterans. The latest meeting saw Bill Breedlove and Denny Key come forward to share about their time in the military.

Breedlove’s war records do not paint a wholesome picture of his Vietnam work. That’sbecause a majority of what he did was redacted from his record. Breedlove served from 1969 to 1971 as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Specifically, he worked for a special security group governing who had access to covert information.

Key, on the other hand, served in the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned equipment manager officer. As such, he was responsible for maintaining parts for aircraft at the Webb Air Force Base in Big Springs, Texas from 1070 to 1972.The local library is proud to host Emanuel County veterans and extends an invitation to all former service members to join in these conversations over coffee. Sessions take placeevery Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. inside the Trustee Room.
