
Two men, Richard Layne Brubaker and Clinton Wayne Scarboro, were sentenced in Emanuel County Superior Court’s January 2021 term.
Brubaker negotiated a plea of guilty (Alford) on one count possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to three years probation and received a $50 fine. He received credit for time served in custody from August 24, 2018 to May 26, 2020.
Scarboro negotiated a plea of guilty (Alford) on one count possession of cocaine as well as a guilty plea for the following charges: possession of amphetamine, possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce), and obstruction of an officer. In total, he was sentenced to 15 years with the first 17 months to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation. Scarboro received credit for time served from July 19, 2019 to December 10, 2020.
