Burke speaks to Wiregrass Chapter

The Wiregrass Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its Christmas meeting Thursday night, December 8, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church Social Hall at 6:30 p.m. With President Wilder Smith, Jr. presiding, 42 members were in attendance, including 15 guests. The meal was provided by caterer Annette McCray out of Metter, GA. After the meal, President Wilder Smith, Jr. introduced Compatriot Steve Burke, 1st Vice President, to present his program on "Life on the Frontier, 1700's". Steve told us how the pioneers of Emanuel County survived and what they had here in our area to feed and clothe themselves. Those were dangerous times, and our area was Indian country.
