Celebrate Earth Day with a clean sweep

If you would like to show pride in your community, come out to this year’s Keep Emanuel Beautiful (KEB) county-wide cleanup “Operation Clean Sweep” on Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day) from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants will gather at the following locations at 9 a.m.: Swainsboro at the Boneyard, Oak Park and Adrian at their city parks, while Garfield and Summertown are meeting at their city halls. (Twin City has its city-wide cleanup date set for April 29th.)

At 9 a.m. a complimentary breakfast will be served and bags and gloves will be handed out. A list of roads and sites in need of cleaning will be provided to those who are not wishing to clean their own neighborhoods or stretches.

To spread the word, the event organizers are encouraging a strong social media presence. When bags have been filled, participants are asked to send a photo of their clean-up to the Keep Emanuel Beautiful Facebook or Instagram pages with the hashtag #KeepingEmanuelBeautiful or if they want to give their city or street a shout out, they can put their city name in the hashtag like #KeepingAdrianBeautiful. Citizens who post photos of their clean up efforts on social media will enter a drawing to win a charcoal grill from Tractor Supply!

If you would like to participate, visit the Keep Emanuel Beautiful on Facebook or Instagram. You can also contact the KEB via email at: keepemanuelbeautiful@gmail.com

Sign up for the event or just show up. Either way all citizens are invited to join in on the clean up. Rain or shine, your KEB members will be there. Let’s take pride in our community together!

Tractor Supply Charcoal Deluxe Barrel Grill will be given away to one luck cleaner-upper!
