Cheryl Scarborough Martin

Visitation for Cheryl Scarbrough Martin, 71, resident of Swainsboro, was held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home. She passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at her residence.

Ms. Cheryl Scarborough Martin was born in Jacksonville, Florida, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Jack Scarbrough. Having a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she retired as a registered nurse with more than 44 years of service. She was a member of Laura Chapel Baptist Church in Patterson, the VFW Ladies’ Auxillary, and the Georgia Nursing Association. She had lived here in Swainsboro since 2013, moving from Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Earl G. Scarbrough; her son, William Scott Herring; and sister, Sandra “Sandy” Jane Scarborough.

Survivors include her husband, Joby R. Martin; daughter, Cherae Herrin (Winton); son, Henry Herring (Rachael); 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother, William E. Scarbrough (Donna Sue Scarbrough); sisters, Lana D. Taylor (Jimmy) and Jacquelyn D. Scarbrough; and sister-in-law, Martha S. Scarbrough.

Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
