Emanuel County will be in full holiday swing starting this Thursday with each municipality offering something for the public.
The City of Swainsboro will kick off the slate of events on December 2. The annual parade will begin at 5:30 p.m., then citizens are invited to witness the lighting of the community Christmas tree around the square. Ol’ Saint Nick will make an appearance—and he’ll bring the snow with him, so plan to bring out the family for the occasion.
Two other towns will follow up the first event with celebrations of their own on Saturday. The City of Adrian will have a parade beginning at 6 p.m. on December 4 with Santa Claus and vendors gathering downtown afterward.
The City of Twin City will see its holiday parade begin at 1 p.m. with the lighting of the Christmas tree to follow. Vendors will be set up downtown there as well.
On Sunday, December 5, the City of Stillmore will welcome visitors downtown from 1 to 5 p.m. During this timespan, there will be a meal, arts and crafts, a silent auction, a country store, dancing, live entertainment, a parade, and, of course, a visit from Santa.
The City of Garfield has coordinated with Santa to visit December 10 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall, and the City of Oak Park will round out the holiday happenings with a parade, including special visitor Santa Claus, at 5 p.m. on December 11.
No matter where you’re from or where you live, go ahead and mark your calendars. After all... The more, the merrier! (No pun intended.)
