Cinema in Dublin closes permanently

DUBLINAMC Classic in Dublin has run its last showing. The company behind the theatre located on Veterans Boulevard in the town just 30 minutes west of Swainsboro closed for business on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at end of day.

AMC gave no reason for the closure when the announcement rolled out on December 31, and leaders of the brand have yet to give an explanation since.

With the closing, the only remaining AMCs nearby remain the theatre in Statesboro and the one in Milledgeville. Fortunately, the town of Dublin still has an option at home to see first-run movies at the Martin Movie House at Theatre Dublin.

AMC acquired the Dublin Shopping Center business formerly known as Carmike Cinemas in April 2017. It featured eight screening rooms plus an arcade.
