Clean-up event planned for rural communities

According to Carol Kraus, a clean-up event has been scheduled for next weekend, April 23, to benefit the Canoochee, Garfield, and Summertown areas of the county.

The clean-up program will run from 9 a.m. to noon and is being put on in connection to both the newly revitalized Keep Emanuel Beautiful campaign and Earth Day 2022 (observed Friday, April 22).

Meet-up locations vary by town. Canoochee participants should meet at Smith’s Canoochee Store while Garfield and Summertown participants should meet at their respective city halls.

Bags for the trash will be provided at that time, and road assignments will be delegated then as well.
