Coleman, Worthen win EGSC homecoming titles

East Georgia State College named its 2021 homecoming court last week during a virtual crowning event held in the EGSC auditorium. The event was streamed live on EGSC’s Facebook page, and each representative was featured.


Precious Coleman from Eastman was named 2021 Homecoming Queen. She was representing the African American Union (AAU) Club.


First runner-up went to Esperanza “Espi” Castro, a sophomore representing the women’s basketball team. Second runner-up went to Alexis Lundy, who was representing the Student Government Association. Other representatives included Kenesia Crowley representing Resident Assistance, Chelsea Godwin representing the Art Club, and Shantel Tracy representing the Unity Club.


Elijah Worthen, a sophomore from Garfield, was named 2021 Homecoming King. He was representing the African American Union (AAU) Club as well.


First runner-up went to Kevin Hunter, who represented the Student Government Association while second runner-up went to Alexander Archie, who represented the Criminal Justice Club.

Last year’s homecoming queen, Ashanti Whitehead, and last year’s homecoming king, Tobias Lester ,attended the ceremony to assist with the crowning.
