Daddy-Daughter Dance to be held

Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department has again planned its yearly “lovely” event for daddies and their daughters, despite COVID-19. The Daddy-Daughter Dance will go on—with safety restrictions, of course.

The dance will take place Friday, February 12, two days before Valentine’s Day, at the rec department’s gym on McLeod Bridge Road in Swainsboro from 7 to 9 p.m. Photographer Mark Williams will be set up to take pictures from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Due to the pandemic, capacity inside the gym will be capped at 50 couples with no exceptions. No one except dance couples will be permitted inside the gym. Refreshments will be limited, and masks will be strongly encouraged.

The dance is for girls ages 4 to 12 and their daddy/adult escort. The cost is $20 per couple. Pre-registration is required and will only be taken until the restricted limit is filled.

Call the recreation department at 237-8098 for more information.
