David Emanuel falls in basketball playoffs

David Emanuel Academy’s basketball season has officially ended. The boys program made it to the second round of the playoffs while the girls fell in the first.

The boys traveled to Moultrie on February 15 and took on Colquitt Christian. The Eagles won decisively, 77–26.

Racyn Faircloth was the catalyst for the offense, dumping in 25 points on his own.

Billy Martin was close behind with 14.

Randon Williams added 11, Jesse Moore added 8, and Jace Scarboro added 5. Other scorers were: Peyton Templeton (4), Tony Sutton (3), Richard Braddy (2), and Peyton Lee and Brody Fleming (1 each).

With the win, David Emanuel moved on to the Elite 8. At Arlington Christian in Fairborn this past Saturday, the Eagles were defeated 98–32.

Although the season ended in an unfortunate loss, the Eagles had a great year. They went 6–4, and the six victories came in consecutive fashion.

The girls program entered the first round on February 18, traveling to Woodstock for the quarterfinals against Lyndon Academy. The Lady Eagles were able to keep it close but ultimately suffered defeat at the hands of the Lady Terriers, 47–30.

Emma Proctor led the offense with 14 points. Sarah Jo Perkins scored 5, Kyle Bell scored 4, Aubrey Williams scored 3, and Addalyn Terwilliger and Alana Tant combined for 4, 2 points each.

This year’s Lady Eagles finished 2–5 but will return a strong core next year, as will the varsity boys.
