David Scott Steptoe, 47


Mr. David Scott Steptoe, 47, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at AU Medical Center in Augusta. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Jody Martin officiating. Interment followed in Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.


Pallbearers were LC Clark, Jr., James Kersey, Chase Carver, C. J. Mullis, Alex Wilkerson, and Tim Steptoe.


Mr. Steptoe was born November 8, 1974, in Dublin to David Steptoe and Shirley Williams. Mr. Steptoe was well-known for his high-spirited personality. There was nothing that made him happier than spending time with his family, his kids were his life. His hobbies include riding dirt roads on his buggy with the music cranked up, hunting, and fishing. You rarely saw him without a fountain drink in his hand. He enjoyed running heavy equipment. He seemed to be a cat, as he had nine lives. He was a good son, father, brother, step-father, uncle, companion, and friend. He may be gone, but never forgotten.


Mr. Steptoe was preceded in death by his father.


He is survived by his significant other, Missy Roberson Mimbs of Swainsboro; sons, Gavin Steptoe and Tyler Steptoe, both of Moultrie; daughter, Zandi Miller (Matthew) of Moultrie; step-son, Tyler Roberson of Swainsboro; granddaughter, Ivee Miller; mother, Shirley Williams of Wrightsville; brother, Robby Williams of Macon; sisters, Jennifer Carver (Talmadge Wilkerson) of Wrightsville, Teresa Williams of Macon, Christy Williams (Dewayne) of Glennwood; special nephews, Daniel Mullis, Kye Clark, C. J. Mullis (Vana), Alex Wilkerson (Bree), Chase Carver; special nieces, Khloe Kersey, Zoey Kersey, Kenna Clark; special aunt, Judy Beasley of Wrightsville; special brothers- and sisters-in-law, James Kersey (Kim) of Swainsboro, LC Clark, Jr. (Meagan) of Wadley; and many friends.


Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of the arrangements.
