DEA baseball falls to Coastal, soccer comes up short against Wheeler

Heading into last week’s game against Coastal, David Emanuel Academy’s baseball team had lost only one game so far. That 5-1 record would be blemished slightly after a home game against the Hurricanes on Friday, March 19. Despite plenty of offense, Coastal left Stillmore with a 19-12 win over the Eagles, making DEA’s record 5-2 instead.

Dane Arrington had 2 doubles on the day. Rylie Rowland had 2 singles.

Arrington, Rowland, Cavan Calhoun, and Riley Griner combined for 7 innings on the hill.

The Eagles’ schedule on the school’s website last week indicated a game against Twiggs Academy on Thursday, March 18. Stats were unavailable as of press time.

Stats were also unavailable at press time for Tuesday’s game against Habersham at historic Grayson Stadium.

The Eagles are set to take on Nat Greene on Thursday, March 25. Look for results in a later edition of The Crossroads Chronicle.

On the soccer pitch, DEA game up just short against Wheeler County. The Lady Bulldogs upended the Lady Eagles in Stillmore 6-4.

Scoring for David Emanuel were Bree Wimberly (2 points), Alana Tant (1), and Sarah Jo Perkins (1).
