For the most part, David Emanuel Academy’s varsity football team has been barreling through its regular season, making quick and easy work of most opponents with wide-spread margins of victory. That would not be the case this past Friday night unfortunately as Covenant Academy gave the Eagles a dose of their own medicine, handing DEA its second loss of the year.
David Emanuel hit the road and mustered only one touchdown on the night as the Rams, powerful on both fronts, all but shut out the Eagles for a 46-6 win.
Jesse Moore intercepted a pass and took it 76 yards to the house to put DEA on the board. The following 2-point conversion was unsuccessful, and that was all she wrote in Macon.
The Eagles are now 4-2 on the year. Their only other loss was handed to them by Twiggs Academy in a tight 8-0 game back in late September.
David Emanuel is open this week and will return to action October 22 versus Vidalia Heritage at home in Stillmore. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
