DEA finishes off undefeated regular season

By Justin Gray

DEA headed into their final game with an undefeated record and were set to face a familiar foe. Their final match of the regular season was John Hancock, a team they already defeated in the first game of the year. This one would be a lot like the first time as DEA rolled onto another easy win.

The offense picked up right where they left off in this one as Racyn Faircloth took a handoff 90 yards to the end zone, the two-point unsuccessful. DEA defense forced another timely interception by Randon Williams and they soon turned it into points on a Jesse Moore 11-yard touchdown run. Richard Braddy hit Ebb McCollough on the two-point conversion to make it 14-0.

JHA got the ball back long enough to throw another interception, Randon Williams second of the game. Moore ran in another from 41 yards out and caught a pass from Braddy on the two-point play to increase the lead to 22-0. It wouldn’t be long after when Braddy hit Williams on a pass and he ran it in for a touchdown from 64 yards out. The next offensive drive Jesse Moore scored his third touchdown of the night on a 54-yard run. Faircloth ran in the two-point play and the score was 36-0. John Hancock scored two touchdowns late and the final for this one was 36-14.

This game was a testament to the season it has been for the Eagles, they have dominated games on both sides of the ball and no one has been able to keep up with them. They finished out the regular season undefeated and region champs! Now it's playoff time, the real season begins now. DEA’s first opponent is TBD, but will be held at DEA! Lookout for an announcement! Let’s support the Eagles as they make a state title run!
