DEA Girls Basketball Looking to Improve After Slow Start

By Justin Gray

The David Emanuel Academy Girls’ Varsity Basketball team has not gotten off to the start they’ve wanted though they have played well. They have played a difficult schedule to this point which has made it tough for them.

They opened up the season with a loss to Glascock 58-44. Next they played Fullington and dropped another one 49-30. The other two games have been against two of the best Girls’ teams around in EBA and Habersham.

The schedule has definitely not helped these girls, but they are looking forward to some things going their way in the next few and picking up some big wins. They have a good group of girls. Their leaders are Emma Proctor, Aubrey Williams, Molly Hammock, and Addalyn Terwilliger.

Head Coach Clint Inman is looking forward to the rest of the season saying, “There are a lot of good girls teams this year and we opened the season with a very tough schedule. I am proud of the effort the girls have put forth and hopefully it will pay off when we start region play.”

They will try to get on the winning track this week taking on Crisp Academy on January 5 and Monsignor Donovan Catholic on January 6.
