DEA honor grads/grads share plans and wisdom

The following David Emanuel Academy seniors will be recognized as graduating with honors in the commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the DEA gym. Below are are some of their hopes for the future and the people who supported them along the way, followed by their own words of wisdom for students still in school.

Jaylin Michelle Hall - Jaylin plans to attend East Georgia State College to further her softball career and obtain an associate’s degree in elementary education before transferring to Georgia Southern University to obtain a master’s degree in elementary education grades P-5. She is the daughter of Henry and Joni Hall.

Jaylin’s words of wisdom, “Enjoy your time in high school and get involved with extracurricular activities. Don’t take your time in high school for granted. As your high school days start winding down, you’ll realize just how much you are going to miss these days.

Emma Lawton Taylor - After graduating, Emma plans to attend The University of Georgia and major in Healthcare Management so that she can work with her family’s business. She is the daughter of Stephen and Tori Taylor. Emma’s words of wisdom, “Don’t take any moment for granted because it goes quicker than you think. Do as much as you can while you can with extra curriculars. Make friends and have fun because twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the ones you did do. CheyAnne Angelina Woodcock Howard - CheyAnne is the daughter of Sherry Woodcock and Jeff Howard, and she plans to attend East Georgia Stare College and graduate with a business degree. Cheyenne’s words of wisdom, “Always keep God first, don’t be afraid to be yourself. Study hard and be honest. Don’t take anything for granted. Cherish every moment because it will be over before you know it.” Molly Gail Hammock - Molly is planning to attend Georgia Southern University this coming fall after she graduates. Then she plans to go into the Medical Field and pursue a degree in Anesthesiology. Her parents are Eric and Crystal Hammock. Molly’s words of wisdom, “For my underclassmen, take it all in. It will be over in the blink of an eye. Try your best in school and do as many extracurriculars as possible. Remember to focus on what is best for you in the long run, not what feels easy or right in the moment. “There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” -C.S. Lewis.” Racyn Lee Faircloth - Racyn plans on attending East Georgia State College and then Georgia Southern University to pursue a degree in Business Finance. Racyn’s words of wisdom, “Enjoy your time in high school, it really does go by quickly. Also, work hard and make your grades count. Strive to be successful!” His parents are Ben and Shana Faircloth.

Cayley Byrd Flanders - Cayley’s parents are Megan Womack and Chesley Flanders, and she plans to attend Georgia Southern University and pursue a career in nursing to become a NICU nurse. Cayley’s words of wisdom, “To enjoy every minute and never take anything for granted because it flies by in the blink of an eye.” Destin Heath Johnson - After graduating, Destin plans to attend Southeastern Technical College to study Electrical Construction. His parents are Keith and Tonya Johnson.

Destin’s words of wisdom, “Don’t give up, one day you will look back and be glad you didn’t.” Alivia Marie Fortner - Alivia plans to further her education by attending Georgia Southern University in the fall to pursue a master’s degree in psychology. Her parents are Todd and Angie Robinson and the late Jeff Fortner. Alivia’s words of wisdom, “For my underclassmen, don’t take the time or friendships you have for granted. Although these may seem like the longest 14 years of your life I can confidently say they truly do fly by. Cherish every memory you make because these are the moments you will hold onto forever.” Ashlyn Nicholl Hall - Ashlyn’s plans after graduation are to attend Ogeechee Technical College to pursue Sonography. Her parents are Mark and Shanda Hall. Ashlyn’s words of wisdom, “For all the students still in school, make every moment count. Make as many memories as possible and always give 100% on everything you do. It will be over soon, so make it worth it!” Cora Lynn Ellington - When Cora graduates, she plans to attend Georgia Southern University and major in Psychology. Her parents are Todd and Christy Ellington. Cora’s words of wisdom, “To anyone still in school, remember to always work hard and put your best into everything. Cherish all your memories and it’ll be over before you know it.” Peyton Nicole Free - Peyton’s plan is to attend Georgia Southern University to pursue a degree in business marketing. Peyton’s parents are Bill and Haylee Free. Peyton’s words of wisdom, “Put forth your best self in everything you do. Study hard, look out for others, and always be true to yourself. Cherish every moment and find joy in every day. These days go by faster than you think, so take in every moment.” Lanna McLayne Douglas - Lanna is planning on attending Georgia Southern University to pursue a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Anthony and Missy Douglas. Lanna’s words of wisdom, “Grasp onto every minute as much as you possibly can. You never realize how fast it goes by until it is over.”

Ann Carol Daniel - Ann plans to attend the University of Georgia and major in Animal Science with intentions of becoming a veterinarian. Her parents are Matt and Candi Daniel. Ann’s words of wisdom, “To the underclassmen - soak up every moment and do not take anything for granted.” Levi Elijah Shaw - Levi is planning on attending East Georgia State College to receive his two-year degree in Business Administration. He hopes this degree will provide the tools needed for management and marketing. Alongside education, he will find hands-on experience in the form of internships and entry level positions that will expand his skills in teamwork and problem solving. His parents are Casey and Angie Shaw. Levi’s words of wisdom, “Don’t forget to have fun! School may seem like an eternity while you’re in it, but before you know it, it’ll all be over and you’ll be wondering where the time went. So make the most of it while you can!”

The following DEA seniors have plans beyond the commencement ceremony. Below are some of their hopes for the future and the people who have helped them to where they are now.

Brandon Ace Ely - Brandon’s parents are Ricky and Malia Ely, and he is pursing a career in Logistics. Kevin Riley Griner - Kevin is planning on attending flight school to become a licensed pilot. His parents are Kevin and Stacy Griner.

Ebb Franklin McCullough - Ebb plans to attend Southeastern Technical College to study Diesel Equipment Technology. His parents are Shannon and Stephanie McCullough. Jesse Reed Moore - Jesse’s parents are Angela Brito and the Late Alfred Moore. He plans to pursue a career in Forestry or Logistics. Justin Samual Newsome - After graduating, Justin is planning on attending Southeastern Technical college to study plumbing and electrical. His parents are Hope and Sammy Newsome. Bailey Marie Overstreet -Bailey is the daughter of Bill and Kim Overstreet, and she plans to attend East Georgia State College to study Liberal Arts.
