Defendant in September homicide denied bond

One of the two codefendants charged in a September homicide appeared in court last week and was denied bond.

Nathaniel David, along with his wife, LaShawna David, both of Swainsboro, are charged with the murder of a Connie Mercer Webb, a Twin City woman. The alleged crime took place September 8 at a property she owned on Modoc Road being rented by the Davids.

Nathaniel reported for a preliminary hearing on Friday, presided over by The Honorable Robert S. Reeves. Following testimony to determine whether or not there was probable preliminary evidence to bind the case over to the grand jury, the court did just that. Judge Reeves also denied a request for bond made on behalf of the codefendant by his attorney.
