Derden presents program to SAR chapter in Vidalia

Two members of the Wiregrass Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Compatriot Dr. John Derden and Compatriot John Tapley, traveled 30 miles to Lyons to attend the October 21 meeting of the Four Rivers Chapter.
Compatriot Derden was introduced by President Matt Oxley, then he presented his program on the Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association Inc. and the organization’s past, present, and future plans for the preservation of the Brier Creek Battlefield.
After his presentation, Compatriot Tapley handed over to President Oxley five Georgia Society battlefield event chapter flag streamers earned by dual members of the Four Rivers Chapter who attended these respective events and presented a wreath on behalf of the Four Rivers Chapter.
After discussing chapter business, President Oxley lead the group of six, which included the two Wiregrass attendees, in the SAR Recessional.
